mr Hill mr colwall. mr Hoskin mr oldenbur . orderd that mr Hill & mr Hoskins Con
fer wth. Sr. Will Petty. mr Grant. concerning the manner & form /in/ which it may be
most proper for Sr. I. Cutler to put in execution his promise of Giuing 50ll a year
during his Life for the Reading the history of trade in Gresham colledge It being men
tioned that in case mr Hookes micorscopicall obseruations should be printed
by order of the society they might be pervsed & examined by some mem
bers of the Society. the Ld Brounker was desired to vndertake this pervsall
and to communicate the manuscript after his Pervusall to whom of the Soci
ety he shall think fit -
Iune 27. voted that at the first opportunity mr H. be put to the Scrutiny for a
Curators place.
Aug. 31. 64 Resolued that the patent for the seuerall new fashiond chariots be drawn
for mr H & his assistants.
nou. 23. 64. orderd that the President be desired to signe a License for the printing mr H micro-
scophicall booke.
     orderd that mr H doe giue notice in the preface /dedication/ of his microscopicall treatise to the
Society that though they haue Licenced that booke yet they own noe theory nor will be thought
to doe soe, also that the seuerall hypotheses & theorys Layd down by him therein are not
Deliuerd as certaintys but as conjectures and that he intends not at all to Obtrude or
expose them to the world as the opinion of the society -
Dec. 7. Dr wilkins proposed mr H as candidate for a curators place.
Decemb. 21. orderd that the councell be summned against next wensday at 6 of the clock in the
euening to consider of the Recommending of a Curator to the society -
may. 29. 65. orderd that mr H be vrged to prosecute the grinding of glasses by his new engine
mr: H proposed to the councell that he had a way of making a short object glasse draw as
much Longer as should be desired
Iune 20. 65. Ord. that the Curator Amanuensis and operator during this intermission be employd by the
Direction of any 3 of the Councell in businesse concerning the Designe & work of the Society of which 3

or mr Colwall shall be one
Iune 28. 65. orderd that the President be desired to signe the allowance for mr H as curator to the
society though the . . . summe doe exceed 5ll.
Feb: 21. 1664. memorand that mr H be considerd for the telescope he had made & fitted for the
Earle of sandwich in order to make obseruations wth it in Spain        march 21.65/6
Dr. wilkins & mr H were desired to Look ouer the operators bills and if they found them iust set
their hands to them
Dr wilkins moued that mr H might be considerd as to the payments of some money he thought due him
from the Society but the order concerning that businesse being not yet extracted out of the journalls
It was referred to the next meeting of the councell.
Dec. 21. 66 orderd that the accounts concerning mr H be stated by the treasurer that it may appear
tht the said mr H hath already Receud and wt yet remains due to him according to the seuerall orders
formerly made by the councell and that therevpon the Treasurer pay mr H what shall thereby appear
remaining Due to him.
Ian. 4. 1666. orderd that mr Hoskins Dr. Ball mr Old & mr H be a committe for causing a catalogue to be made
of the Library of Arundell house and that the Amanu & operat from time to time attend this comtee which
is to begin to meet on thursday in the afternoon in the Library.
