killing Engine. conceiuing now that a cro
ssbow of whalebones might be soe contriued
as to perform that execution well. wherevpon some of the company objecting that
whalebones would by the water loo
se their spring, it was sayd that good vernice
would secure the spring, others sugge
sted that a bow of steel tinnd ouer would
doe well especially if seuerall steel springs were put together. m
