What condition are the workdiaries in?

The workdiaries are on the whole in good condition, and are easily legible. They generally appear to have been kept carefully, and are not dog-eared or otherwise worn. Some workdiaries have been folded up as if they were carried around in the pocket at some point as can be seen in Workdiary 8, Royal Society, Boyle Papers 25, p. 344 and in Workdiary 9, Royal Society, Boyle Papers 25, p. 358.

A few are damaged, sometimes by chemical spillage: for example, in Workdiary 22, Royal Society, Boyle Papers 8, fol. 87v and fol. 88r and in Workdiary 34, Royal Society, Boyle Papers 25, pp. 51, 52, 53, and 54. The latter has been repaired, but otherwise the workdiaries show few signs of archival intervention other than in their arrangement.
