Nouemb. 21. 1666. mr. Kings account of transfusion) Read.) also one of mr Hooke conteining a Discourse about
short inclining pendulums doing the Effect of Long perpendicular ones. both papers were orderd to be registred
wth thanks to the authours. (transfusing expts orderd to be prosecuted). mr. Hooke shewed the company another
kind of pendulum which being perpendicular & short by counterpoysing performed the part of a long one
The President was of opinion that the circular pendulum as farr as he yet saw was the best of all
kinds he had yet made tryall of (printed paper about tydes.) Report about Heuelius his Last book called

Nouemb: 28. There was produced by mr Hooke a new kind of Leuell by including a large bubble of
air in a glasse pipe hauing its sides exactly blown & filled with warter and sealed vp at both ends
The producer was orderd to bring in its decriptions and manner of application to practise -
The same produced a new kind of Bookstaff for taking altitudes, as also an augur or In
strument to take vp earth with. of both which he was likewise orderd to giue in a Description
and manner of vsing them (mr Pouey west indian curiositys (Oldenburg. deuonshire curiositys. gold and
bitt. a kind of vegetable) mr King a foetus in spt. of wine) mr Hoskins a locust from the canarys) mr Hooke produ
ced a substance said to be the eggs of a Rayfish (Wallis obserue: about tides) obs: for next day a new kind of watch -
and optick glasses vpon new principles. to be produced by the Curator -
Nou: 30. Election day. Dec: 5. 1666. Sr. R Moray mentiond a new kind of Leuell contriued by Dr Chr. wren
which mr. Hooke was orderd to gett made as soon as he could, adding to it the way to determine how
much it varys from the Leuell. mr. Hooke produced a new sort of pendulum made after the
manner of a Beam and soe contriued that by placing the beame neerer or farther below
the center of motion, the pendulum may perform the vibrations in any time assigned in wch
he affirmed to be one certaine Depth beyond which he affirmed the pendulum would not goe quicker
which he had not yet Reduced to a theory but hoped to doe. The same hauing mentiond his two
Instruments the one for fetching vp earth from the bottom of the Sea the other for fetching vp
the seuerall sorts of earths out of the ground on the Land was orderd to get them both made wth
speed. The Expts. for next day. 1st transfusion its curator Dr Pope Dr King mr Cox mr Hook. 2 mr Hookes new
principle of making optick glasses -
Dec: 12. 1666./ transfusion expt. made succeeded not soe well as the Last, though the monday before the same. had
been tryed before wth. good sucesse where were present Dr Pope mr. D. Cox. mr T Cox mr Oldenburg mr Hooke
orderd that at next meeting it should be tryd vpon a mangy & asound dog Letting the blood of the former
into the veines of the Later & that Dr. Ball mr D Cox mr T Cox & mr Hooke should take care of the expts.

Dec: 19. 1666. mr Hooke proposed a new clockwork & a new bucket to fetch vp earth from the
bottom of the Sea & promised to bring them both in at next meeting. He was minded of his new way
of making optick glasses formerly proposed by him (Expt of transfusion orderd for next Day)
about transfusion suggestions iniecting milk barly broth & bleeding one to death & recouering by infusion -
Two papers about tides. and other suggestions) mr Hooke had obserued that between ports mouth and the Isle
of wight from half flood to high water and soe to half ebb: it runs from West to East and from half ebb to low
water & soe to half flood it Runs from East to West.

for fetching vp earth or any other solid body from the bottom of the Sea. It was orderd that care should
be taken soe to fitt it as that the springs might goe off both together and that easily & certainly &
when it meets wth soft ground (as well as hard) as also to grate it ouer. The same brought
in a new clockwork soe regulating and adiusting a circular pendulum that at the end of a certaine num
ber of vibrations the clock motion shall be reduced to an exactnesse which it had not before, the
Inventor was orderd to perfect it & to perfect it & to bring in a ^ /full/ Description of its structure & vse in writing

to seconds were desired breefly to discribe them that soe it might be signifyd to the Parision philosopher
that it was a thing not at all new among the English. The Curator Renewd his former proposall
of obseruing the Parallax of the Earths Orb. The President exhorted him to set vpon it with all
possible speed. There was againe produce the bucket for fetching things from the bottom
of the sea it being not yet alterd as was orderd at the former meeting it was orderd it should
be perfected against the next Day. The new clock motion for adiusting the circular pendulum was
also orderd to be perfected for the next meeting. Expt for next day. bending springs by powder. 2ly new weather glasse for trying /all degrees of heat in /
