mor: Charras being Present before the sitting of the Society at their
Experiment presented the his booke Entitled Pharmacopea Royalle
It was Deliuerd to mr Hunt for the Library.

RH produced an Experiment of weighing and solid bodys by the help of a paise
buoy /in/of water the affecte of wch was to the exactnesse of a millionth of/.. . ./ millionth ^/part/ of
times its weight. Soe that hereby any body /euen to the weight of a tunn/ might be examined as toits its vari
ation of weight euen to the weight of a /few/ graines by means of which Infinite
of Discouerys might be made of the various alterations and changes that happen
in bodys wch. are not possible to be Discouerd by any other way whatsoeuer
Especially as to the curious and otherways insensible alterations that
happen in the body of man.
The contriuance in short was this a cylindricall vessell ^/of tin. though glasse is much more preferrable/ of a bulk large enough
to counterbuoy the weight of the body designd to be examind was putt was by perfect
ly soderd vp soe as neither to be peruious to air or water. to the vpper part of this was
sodered fowr small wires about reaching about 2 inches aboue the top of the cylinder
vpon the ends of these wires rested a crosse: of breadth enough the ends of wch. were
long enough beyond the Receptacle vessell to Receiue 4 lines to wch. a seale
was fastned vnder which was neath the Receptacle vessell into wch. seale the weight
to be examined is putt. the manner of wch. will be better vnderstood by the annexed scheme

Dr croon alledged that this was nothing Differing from the floating of a
great ship and that the same thing might be done wth the weighing of a
ship wth. scales. But it was shewd that the nicety of this Experiment -
Depended vpon fundamentally totally Differing, And though twas impossi
ble to find the Differing alteration of weight in a ship by the way
of a ballance or by its sinking to the thousandth part of its bulk
by this means the Differing alterationsnot only of^/a body as big as/a ship butof any
other greater of Lesser body whatsoeuer might be found to the 1000000th
part - The .. . . ship vpon euery inch of sinking varying many tunns -
weight. But a Body as bigg as a ship this way orderd not varying an ounce
weight vpon the sinking seuerall feet. this was Demonstrated from the
variation of the Location of the ponderating body by mediums of exceeding
great Diuersity in their specifick grauitys. the specifick Grauity of the
vper to the specifick grauity of the vndermost being aboue a thousand to one
as is manifest by other experiments which haue been formerly Exhibited in this Society
After the minutes of the Last Day were read. and during the Reading the
President came -after wch..

The President read the Statutes ^/& Directions in the charter book/ for Those things wch. were to be done
in order to the Election Day now approaching one of wch. was /concerning/for

pleasd to name Dr. Wallis. mr Barrington. mr Collins. mr Haak & Dr. Grew who being
