mr. Aston hauing translated a large letter of mr. Leuwenhoek
out of Lowdutch into English and Deliuered it in: A part thereof
Was Read, which was concerning Diuers obseruations he had
made on the Lees of ale & wine. the remainder was referred
to another meeting -

Mr. Haughton propounded Dr. Nouell a candidate of this
Society.

mr. Hooke shewed a piece of A Talipat Leaf which one
mr. Knox who had been 19 1/2 years captiue in Ceylon had
brought wth. him from thence, twas about 7 foot Long &
nine foot wide at one end & was made much like a womans
fann. closing & opening like that. the whole Leaf was
said to be a circle of 20 foot Diameter

mr. Hook shewd an Experiment wherein.
