The President in the chair.

mr. moxon Presented his 14 mechanicall Exercises Bound together
in a booke, for the Library - he had the thanks of the Society
and they Incouraged him to proceed in his vndertaking.

The same Propounded Capn. Wood as a Candidate of this
Society.

Mr. Bridgman, subscribed his name and was by the Prest
Admitted A member of this Society.

mr. Perkins being calld vpon for an account of wt he had been
able to doe about the Collection of voyages Gaue an
account that vpon Inquiry he found, that the greatest number
of Iournalls of Voyages were In the nauy office, that there
were very few or none either in the East India or Trini
ty house. He Also Deliuerd in a paper conteining the
names of some voyages that had been printed that were
scarce to be had - he was Desired to proceed wth his Inqui
ry and to bring in an account of his progresse from time to
time which he promised to Doe.

Sr. Robert Redding moued that Mr Blaith wayte might be
consulted wth. concerning this affair to see what assistance
he could Giue concer in this matter of voyages.

Mr. Perkins shewd some Nayles Cast by a founder in new street in shoe
=Lane purposely for the sheathing of ships they were supposed to
be a mixture of Brasse & Lead, tryalls were orderd to
be made wth. them to see whether they would Rust tryalls were
also to be made wth. Iron nayles couerd wth Lead & tin to see
whether that would preserue them from that Inconuenience
Mr. Bridgeman supposd that the Iournalls of the East India
Company of Holland might be Procured if care were taken
to enquire after them.

The President moued that Sr. Iohn Norborough & Captaine
wood might be spoken to for the procuring their voy
ages. the one to the streights of Magellan and the other
to the North East.

Mr Hill Related that in an old map of the Magellane streights
made in the time of Queen Elizabeth, the Passage to the
southward of those straights was Described, Long before Le mayr
was sayd to haue found it. It was Desired that this map should be
