[fol. 109r] Yf it might plese your L. to take occasyon to shew whatt I wrytt unto yow, abowtt the Spaynish actyons to her majestie, ytt might do me good, & I will substanciallye perfforme assmuche as ys conteyned theryn how chargeable soever ytt be & yett there was never poorer man than I am, nor meeter to be compared to the Chameleon, yn respect that he lyves of verey lyttell or of the ayre, than I./

Good mi L. vowchesave to talke with Wade, & to make som end for me & lett ytt appere that yow do assmuche esteme of me your poore follower in eqwitye, as master Secretorye dothe of his, butt he is so [warme] as whatt he conseves to do for his frynd, he will procede in ytt without gaynsayeng, or elles he wilbe displesed. I have of my syde conscyens & justyce, as your L. best knowes, therfore mi good L. determyne ytt, & conserve mi credite with master Secretorye, to the end I may be the habler to do yow & her majestie the better servyce./ In perusyng mi papers this mornyng, I fownd a lre of your L. own hand havyng these words to me. William be nott trobled for Wades cawse, for of myne honor I will end it to your own contentment, which is so comfortable to me, as I do assure mi sellf that your L. hath allredy don ytt, & ^that ye^ will nott by cessing now, caste awaye the 50li. that ye have disbursed to hym allredy [ deleted: & have] [ Marginalia (by Herle): for the which, & for the condicions to be perfformed yn the rest, your L. hath] an yndenture of Wades yn Ambrose his custodye, to testeffye the goodnes ye ment to me, & whatt he is bownd to obey by your L. arbytrement. I am threttned to be arrested ^att your heeles^ which as it wolld be to late then to remedye, so am I sure yow wolld be lothe to se ytt./ Tomorow I will God willeng wayte uppon your L. for alltogether att the Cowrte, to do the best & humblest offyces I maye among these frenchemen, wherunto I am prettylye [entred] allredy, & mallvisior will hellp me to supplye the rest./ Your L. most humblye, W.H.
