[fol. 62r] I have mi Lord browght this matter to a full issue, desirows your L. wold vowchesaffe to appoint me a certain tyme when to make repport therof, which reqwires spede, if your weighty affayres wold permitt the same, yett hoping your L. doth [ deleted: unf] understand by master Blithe that I have bin there sondry tymes, which may excuse ani negligens that otherwise might be imputed to me, withall there is on comitted yesternight to the marshallsea, whose name is Charlles & pretendes to be a Brabander borne att Bruxelles, but indede I understand hym to be a scott & a minister to the Bishop of Rosse, of whom grett thyngs might be drawen, if he had bin a close prisoner, for it is a dangerows fellow, & conteynes a whole masse of their secretts, butt now he is verey tymerows, uppon which poynt the more might be wrought if he were alone, & this day on that is a skott of my acqwaintance was sent to hym from the Bishop of Rosse with instructyons, by whom haply I cowd lerne somwhatt, as happy is he that in suche wretched practises do ani service to his Prince & State, wherof it may plese your L. to lett me understand your will furthwith, as further I have som new matter to saye unto your L. which may att lest wise expresse mi humble good will & dutye, though no grett workes, Lastly Comending to your L. mi hard Case, desirows to spend mi life in ani thing her Majestie & your L. wold employe me & bicause there is nothyng more dere unto me than to be restored to good oppinion & name, I humbly desire your L. to be mi good Lord therin, which may be an argument that while I esteme that dutye, mi reverens to god & mi Prince canott decaye nether can I comitt ani uncomly thyng ^otherwise^ , wherin for that mi Lord of Salisbury is a verey jewell of this land, I beseche your L. as I reqwested yow erst that his oppinion ones conseved of me, may nott by this imprisonment ^& extremity^ be decayed / So prayng humbly for your L. prosperity I take mi leve in haste from the marshallsea 1571. your L. porest well willer.
