[fol. 58r] I thanck your L. most humblye for the ij most favorable lres that I [Receved] by mi man, & for the care ye shew to have in theme of me, which I [wolld] of Godds grace deserve, & yf your L. vowchesave to procure me som allowance or mayntenance here of her majestie I will make it appere that it shall nott be the lest offyce that yow have don to her in good, suche frute shall procede of it, & that I refferre to the prooff, knowynge it so necessarye for her majestie, as ani thing of that qwalitye may be now for her affayres, which I leve to your wisdom & zele to judge. I have sent your L. by this berer sondry lres & papers to consyder of, [havyng] Receved back mi [ deleted: obser] paper of observations collected in Apryll & Maye here, wheryn yow have don me an honorable favor to remember me so well herewith, And bycawse your L. shall perceve. whatt proceded from me in answer to those frenche discowrses & objectyons agaynst our State, I do send yow ynclosed the copye of a lre wrytten from me to the Erlle of Lecester on that behallf to satisfye hym towching the same, which when your [L.] hath perused asslong as shall plese yow, I do humbly pray, that ye will inclose ytt within a paper under your seall, & Restore it by mi man unto me. I am glad in a most humble sorte, that I do concurre yn oppynion, with those things that your L. vowchesaved to wryte unto me sythens. / And from hencefurth I will yndevor to be more worthye your honorable favor, the tytell of her majesties servant I beseke your L. still to mayntayn me in her majesties good grace & to ayde me with her, whatt shalbe your plesure. I am allso muche bownd unto yow for mi servant uppon whom ye have bestowed money & good speches towching mi sellf, for the which & all the Rest, our Lord in Heven acknowlege it towards yow./
