        27 April 1571 From the Bp: of Rosse to William Herle
 
        I heare you have beene before the Councell and charles face to face what you have 
        said to him or he to you in their presence I am ignorant therefore yf you will advertise 
        what the same was in effect I will geve you my best advise, I am sory of the handling 
        which doth not protend of any of my house I mervayle not litle that you did keepe 
        such lres beside you so long, I heare also charles: is comitted to the tower Let me have 
        answere with diligence that I may the more playnly make answere to those thinges 
        which shalbe demaunded for you Which I will doe as apperteyneth in honesty after I 
        have heard from you, God preserve you, This morning after the receipt of your lre 
            ymediatly /
