face to face with Charles nor out of this chamber since I was comitted for they observe me
streightly & deale with great rudenes with me, having this morninge beside my Irons I
had a payer of shackells added so as I can scarse move, And for this speech of my
beeing at Court, is only their finesse & devise to wring some matter foorth, The like
also is said to me that Charles hath confessed the whole of my dealing & conveyance with
him, threatning me to the tower & Rack, which I hope that Charles is not of so weake a
kinde to yeald so filthily to any examinacon they can make as I for my parte am
resolved to abide 5000 deathes before any thing proceed from me unworthy the name
of a man, Nowe therefore it may please you to use your comfortable advise &
councell, & your Lo: shall here continually from me of all that passeth very glad that
this proceeded from none of your house which doth confirme an assured minde in me
to stand stiffe in the rest, And for keeping of Charles lre by me was done of good purpose
to have delivered it my self, and to use the more surety & secrecy to the cause for that
also I would have conferred with you by mouth of matters not meete to have beene
comited to lres And as for Charles comitting to the Tower, I heare nothing, only praying
to God to geve him constancy for these are but certen thundrings amase him, for that
he is young, But I have a good opinion in his faithfull
