Oct. 31. 1667. (mr Euelyns tables) to mr Hooke) Dr. Lowers account of tying the vena caua to giue a dropsy to a dog) tying the
Iugulars) Dr. King tryd the same but fayled.) Dr. Lower tht making the Receptac: chylj. will make the Lungs adhere to the side
The Curator produced 2 instruments of his own contriuance. one he calld a perfect wheel work
soe made as aequally to communicate the strength of the first wheel to the Last the teeth of it being
always taking soe as before one tooth hath done taking its past a good way into another. the other
was an Instrument for obseruing the Diameters poistions & angles of the starrs conceiud to be more
plaine and easy and lesse chargable than that of mr Townly he was desired to bring in his account of both
in Writing and to take care that mr Townly who had formerly comunicated to the Society an Intrument
for the like purpose might be made acquainted wth. this new contriuance the magneticall expt. which was
tryed the Last meeting with a seeming successe was tryed againe this Day but succeeded not at all.
The Curator was desired to giue this in writing the vnsuceeding Expt. being as well to be registred as those tht

might be giuen to him that had giuen mr. Collins an account of salt makers) Dr. Allen Scrupelling the transfu
sion tryall mr. Hooke was desire to meet him at Sr. G. Ents house wth some other physitians) Expt. for next day
Nou: 7. 1667. Dr. Lower tying Iugular) The curator speaking againe of this Expt. of passing the blood of an
animall from one side to another wthout passing through the Lungs & shewing his contriuance for per
forming was orderd to try it first in priuate and Least there should fall too much air vpon the blood
mouing openly into the porrenger from one side to the other it was suggester that a kind of couer
should be prepared for the porrenger to regulate the quantity of the air (the minerall paper of colepresse
(Colins discript of double horiz) some sheets of quad: prsent) It was orderd that a descr being moued that
a scheme & Description of mr. Townlys astr: Instrument should be brought in by mr Hooke and entred
answer was made that both were ready & in the hands of the Secretary who promised to produce it next day
The Curator being called vpon for the scheme or module of the new cyder making Instrument & not hauing
it Ready was desired to haue it next meeting) (Dr Ball helmet & eagle stone.) D[r. Lower sayd he would short
ly giue an account of his Expts. by the presse) Sr. Theod. Deuaux paper of salt making.) -
Nou: 14. 1667. Heuelius letter. Oct. 21. 67. of his cometography almost finisht. desires Longest telescopes and a full description
of it formerly promised by mr Hooke and of applying telescopicall sights to sextants thereby the better to regulate and assist
[In margin]Vz  the sight in the measuration of the Distances of starrs. The company though good that these desires
should be complyed wth. as much as might be and did particularly desire mr Hooke to be mindfull
of his promise concerning those sights (Dr. Lower account of tying iugulars) of perforating diaphrame)
Expt. of making blood circulate from Iugular artery to Iugular veine on the same side. succesfull)
The curator Related that his expt. for making the blood of a dog passe from one side to another
without passing through the Lungs had not succeeded in the ways he had tryd hitherto but that he
had thought of another method which he would further consider. he was desired to giue in writing the parti
culars of the operation & what hinderd the same (Dr. Lower account of Ductus chiliferus by which the
blood chyle passes to the heart. mr Hookes account of townlys Instr: read & orderd to be registred together
wth. the schemes. it was also orderd that one of the Astronomicall Instr: for diuiding a foot into many thousand
parts as contriued by mr. Hook should be made by mor Heuelius at the charge of the society.
and sent to him as from them by mr Oldenburg. mention being made that nouember the 20th next
there would be an horizontall Eclipse of the moon. It was ordered that Mr Ball & Mr Hook: Should
make Obseruations accordingly. (mr. Collins his Account of the double Horizontall Dial & the reuerse

Nou: 28 Coga's Account of himself since transfusion. The Curator being called vpon for an account
of the expt. of passing the blood from One side to the other wthout passing through the Lungs, said he
had attempted it but it suceeded not soe well. but that he thought he had now deuised a way
contriuance to make it succeed as desired of which he hoped to giue a good account the next

paring for expt. of this kind to be made as soon as it might be according to the particulars appointed the Last Day.
(mr. Potters way of measuring time by an air strainer) The curator was desired to consider of it and to giue
his thoughts concerning it at the next meeting (Smethwike the same who Rd it from Sr. Ed: Lake chancellor of Lincoln
Transfusion the next Day and emittent animall to be weyed.
Dec: 12. 1667. Transfusion tryed again on Coga) the rest of mr. Boyles paper of Light) orderd that __ the curator
should take care to haue the like expts. tryed before the Society as soon as he could procure any shining rotten
wood or fish (Dr. D Coxes paper of Hogsden sweet earth) The curator being called vpon for giuing an account
of wt he thought of the way of measuring time brought in the Last Day by mr Aubery & mr wild sayd that
though the inuentions were ingenious and as he thought new yet that by reason of the Inaequality of e air
causd by the various degrees of its Rarification & condensation as also of its drynesse & moysture it would not be
