mr. Hooke Shewed the Ball (that had been Let fall from the
height of 27 foot and fell into a box full of Tobacco pipe clay)
Sticking in the clay, and upon the surface of wch. were made
Lines crossing each other wch. shewd the true perpendicular
point indicated by the ball when It hung suspended by a thread
from the top, and how much the ball had varyed from that per
pendicular in its Descent towards the South & East. and also
explained the manner how the same was performed in all
particulars. The Society were well pleasd wth the Expt.
And Dessred that the Expt. might be made before a Member
of the Society who might be witnesses of it before the
next meeting. The time appointed was munday next
at 3 in the afternoon.

The Expt. of weighing the mixture of Copper & Lead
was tryed by examining its weight both in air & water
and therby it was found that the said mixture in
the Air weighed 4188gra. In the water 3746 grains
Whence the weight of it to that of Water was as 9 105/221
to one or 9 21/44 to one.

Mr. Haak propounded & Recommended Dr. Christianus Heusch
Principall Physitian to his Highnesse the Prince Elector Palatine
for a candidate of this society he being admitted also to be pre
sent at the meeting & Expts.
Mr. Hooke Propounded Mr. Thomas Firman & mr. Hauton
as Candidates of this Society.
