The experiment shewd by mr. Hooke was to shew
that vapours pressed only according to their own graui
=ty and not according to the space they take vp in the
Atmosphere . this was done by a Bladded blown vp
vnder water, But the Consequents of it being not soe
euident to some of the members present It was Desi
red that some more conuenient glasses should be
prepared for it against the next meeting . /
