that the north side of the Pike of Teneriffe, was made
vp & matter which plainely manifested it to haue been such a -
fiery Riuer it being all melted stones and mineralls of that
nature which agrees exactly wth. the Relation of that hill
mountaine lately read in this place.-
herevpon mr. H the Burning fountaine in Lancashire was
spoken of, and mr Hunt sayd he had been at the place and
that the same would take fire by driuing down a stake in
the place Ground & wrigling it to & fro.

Vpon Discoursing concerning the actuall burning of seuerall
places vnder the Ground continually such as the coles mines
and the Burning mountaines. mr. Henshaw Related that he
had been at the Salphaterra in Italy. why lyes between
two mountaines where he had obserued the fire to break
out in many places, and that the earth would shake vnder
them and seemd to be all hollow and burning vnder
neath the place where they walked and had continued
soe for many ages.

Hereupon Sr. Iohn Louther affirmed that he had a cole
mine of his own which was on fire but it not Lying
very deep he had put out the same by Digging a
Deep trench in the earth /ground/ Round about it vnderground

The same also was pleased to charge him by promise
to the Society that he would procure a history of a
cole mine of Sr. Wm: Blackett. -

The Experiment of filtration through a cup of Iuy
was tryed by but it prouing soe close that nothing
would filtre or passe though the same mr. Hunt was
orderd to procure another cup of Iuy againt the
next meeting
