mr Henshaw the vice president tooke the chair.
mr. Hooke presented /Deliuerd to/ the Society from Sr. An ancient Vrne of Glasse taken
vp in Spittell. feilds vpon the occasion of Digging cellers there. Presented by
Sr. Christopher Wren his Majtys Surueyor Generall. for their Repository
wherein this was very remarkable that jt seemd to be made after -
quite another way then that vsed by the Present workmen in that
art It hauing noe place at the bottome thereof nor any visible signe
how it cold be held whillst the Lip & handle thereof were joyned to
the body. Thankes were orderd to be returned to Sr. Christopher Wren
for this Present & the vrne was Deliuerd to mr. Hunt for the Repository

mr. Hooke then shewd the experiment of the springing of a string -
of brasse wire about 36 or 37 foot Long extended by weights hung at
the Lower end thereof, and made it euident to the company that the
said string extended proportionable to the weight that was putt into
hung onto it at the bottom that is that one weight extended it one
length two extended to two and three extended it three spaces or
Lengths. here were present at this Exper meeting the Heir Spanhemius
the enuoy of the Prince Palatine and the His Brother Professor
of           at Leiden .

After the shewing of this Expt. Sr. Robert Redding Addressed himself to the
vice President and the Rest of the Society Present and Acquainting them that
his Grace the Duke of norfolk had Desired him to



Then mr Hooke shewd to the Enuoy Spanhemius & to his Brother the
small animalls Discouered in Pepper water by the Help of the microscope
