The Prest. acquainted the Company to haue made the mercuriall cylinder stand at 85
inches wth. very Little water he promised to persue the Expt.
mr. Hooke was appointed Curator for grafting feather; vpon a cocks comb against next

Octob: 28. mr Hooke was charged from to prouide from time such Expts. for the compressing
Engine as he should think good. The same shewd the company a microscopicall

sr. R moray produced a peice of copper oar sent him out of sweth land and presen

Dr. Charlton Dr, Crone & mr Hooke were againe appointed curators for the expt. of

Doggs skin & sewing it on againe and the operator orderd to prouide another

think vpon such an engine that might be cheap & easy to be managed.
mr Hooke shewd the company some microscop: Obserns: 1 A mite 2 sparks of a flint
3 hairs of a mans head of a cat, of a horse & some brisles.
mr Hook was desired to try the new sounding balls in the Thames for major Homes
and to giue an account of the successe to the Society.
nou. 11 [P Ruperts Perspectiue Eng. presented] mr Hook suggesting that additions might be made to
the said Inuention of P Rupert soe that it might incline & recline and be fitted to
Draw also solid bodys in Perspectiue and likewise to Describe all kinds of Dialls was
Desired to bring in these additions in writing and then to giue a Description and to shew
the practise of the whole In the mean time the Princes Instrument should remain sim
ple as it is now wthout any alteration therein. [about shining Diamants much] mr Hook
added that he had a ring wth. 6 diamant that would all doe the like [i.e. shine when rub

mr. Hook shewd the scheme for another Engine for Carriage vizt of such a one as goeth
wth. one wheel & is drawn by one horse soe contriued that it shall not fall. but be
kept perpendicular what way soeuer it moueth euen on the decliuity of a hill &c
he was desired to haue a module made thereof. The same being called vpon whe
ther he had tryd his new sounding balls for major Homes affirmed to haue tryed &
found them doe exceeding well
mr Hook spoke of a way of carrying air down to the bottom of the sea at any depth
and of bringing it vp vnder a bell. He was Desired to giue in a particular De
scription thereof. - mr. Hook was appointed to prouide a good expt. in the -
compressing engin against next Day. The operator was orderd to haue a dog ready
against next Day to cutt off a peice of his skin curators appointed for it Docter Crone
