Ian. 26. 1680.

Sr. Iohn Hoskins the vice Pt. tooke the chair

mr. Iohn Adams of the inner temple was brought in by Dr. Grew
His businesse was to Desire the aduice & direction of the Society in
an vndertaking he was now about vit. a Perfect suruey of Eng
land, he sayd he had already had the aduice of the President. mr Hooke
and mr. Flamstead concerning.
Sr. J. Hoskins aduised him besides the Geographicall Descriptions to
make also a topographicall of all the Principle Seats and build
ing. to take an account of the bignesse & current of riuers &c -
he sayd he would from time to time follow craue & follow the Direc
tions of this Society in prosecuting this vndertaking.-
mor. Pappin Presented a Booke of his Dedicated to the society
intituled a new Digester &c. Thanks were returnd him for
this his Present and the Booke was orderd to be putt
into the library.

Mr. Hooke produced the Present he had Receiued from Dr. Mar=
cellus malpighius out of Italy. being seuerall Late bookes Printed
& Published in Italy. together wth. his Picture very well painted as
big as the Life.

The Bookes were those that follow

Giue an account thereof to the society at the next meeting.

the rest of the bookes being rebound were orderd to be Sticht

It was orderd there should be a frame made for the Picture
and a motion being made the the same might be well
Grauen. mr. Hooke was desired to speak wth. mr. Logghan
or mr Faithorn concerning it.
