Many of the society met But there was none in the Chair
mr. Aston took the Last Letter of Mr. Leuwenhoek and promised to tran
late it into English -
mr. Hooke introduced Mr. Mes Meester who explaind his water Leuell
& Print & Description whereof was Presented by Mr. Haake for the
vse of the Society.
Dr. Gale Deliuerd into from Dr. Wallis the two Last Lectures he Read
before the Society concerning the Time of Easter.
Dr. Gale was Desired to Returne the Societys thanks to the Sd
Dr. and also their earnest Desire to him to make it Publique
Sr. Cerill Wych desired to haue the Perusall thereof for some
short time which was Grantd

mr. Hooke produced & Read a Letter to himself from mr
Octau: Pullein Dated from Padua this nouember
Dr. Gale was Desired to be mindfull of Writing to him when he
shall arriue at Madrid -
mr. Hooke Gaue an account of the Particular obseruations of the Inner
most Satellite of Recommended to him to be obserued here in
Englad by our astronomers who might correspond wth. the French
Astronomer. by Monr. Toinerd together wth. an account of seue
rall obseruations of those named made by mr. Flamstead at
Greenwich which he Designed to send to Paris

Mr. Hooke gaue a Particular Relation concerning his Obseruations
made on munday morning & Tuesday morning Last of a new
comet appearin in the beginning of the signe Scorpio a Little
to the Southward of the Ecliptick, that its motion was east
ward & hasted towards the Sun that It could not be seen either
wensday & thursday morning because of the thicknesse of the
air.

Herevpon mr Hill noted that he had been told by Sr. Robert Moray that
Mr. Marriot had In his Life time seen 9. And that of those nine
he had predicted when 7 of them should appear.
Mor. Auzout was sayd to be the first that had printed an Ephemerides
of the comet in 1664. Though Vpon grounds very improbable but
Sr. Chr: Wren was the first that found out & demonstrated the true
way of making an Ephemerides of all the way of the comet from any
four obseruations.
