The Society vpon summons /notice/ sent out /to them/ mett againe at Gresham
Colledge after their Recesse for the Autumn.
neither the President nor Vice Presidents being there Sr. Robert
Redding was Desired to take the chair.
Dr. Crone Produced a Letter sent to him from the Barbados
by Col William Sharp. Dated Aug. the. 16th. 1680. together wth. an -
account of his obseruations of the weather, and of the mercuriall
Barometer sent ouer by /to/ him thither by this Society - together wth
some coniectures of his own about the cause of the motions of that
Instrument.
Dr. Crone was Desired to Returne him the Societys thanks and
to Desire him to continue to presecute these obseruations and to com
municate them . . . to this Society.
Dr. Crone Desired that a coppy might be made of those obseruations
to send to mr. Townly. which was accordingly orderd.
Dr. Croon took notice that the changes /of the Barometer/ at . . . . . the Barbadoes
were not soe great as at Tangier and those at Tangier very much
Lesse than here in England
mr Hally affirmed that the changes also in the Barometer at St. Helena
was /were/ very Little and much Lesse then those at Tangiere, But that the
greatest variations there were caused by the N.W. windes
Sr. R Redding sayd that he had an account of seuerall obseruations
made at London & in Ireland /Dublin/ at the same time -wch. he promised
to produce.
There was also a paper of mr. Townlys obseruations produced, And Dr.
Croon Related that he had found by them that the weather was /not/ the same
both here & there though the Barometers changes were /not/ different
mr. Hooke produced a Letter from Mor. Iustell and Read it. Dated from
Paris Aug: 21 St.n. 1680. Giuing an account of an astronomicall Instru
ment Inuented by mor. Romer for finding the Positions of the heauens at
all times either past present or to come by performed by clockwork wthin
to be turnd by the hand. also of an other such Instrument inuented by Sr.
Cassinj but wthout wheelwork and was to be set by the help of tables -
also of . .
otice that he had an account of a voyage made from mosco
to China in the years 1674 & 1675. and some other particulars. the Cor
respondence was desired to be continued.

Dr. Crone Produced a Letter from Mr. Pullein from Rome wch. was Read. Giuing
an account of a new academy Physico mathematicall accademy founded by Sr.
Champignj. that he would correspond wth this society, that he had sent some tracts for a pre
sent. that he would continue to send such thing as come out of there which were curious
and Expected hence sutable Returnes. as Boreilljs book soe soon as finished. also it giues
an account of some things printed there. of a Balsom made by Sr. Champini. It mentiond
also a parcell of Rare seeds sent by mr. Vpton for Oxford from Bocconj. and of the Pouerty
of Sr. Bocconj and wt would be an Incouragement to make further search for naturall Raritys
