- Creation: late 1640s
- Hands: Robert Boyle (all entries)
- Source: Royal Society, Boyle Papers 44, fols. 114-5
- Languages: English (33 entries) French (1 entry)
- Length: 34 entries, unnumbered
- Format: Two quarto-size leaves from a bound notebook, i.e. the same format as workdiaries 1 and 2
- Note 1: This workdiary appears to come from roughly the same period as Workdiaries 1, 2 and 4, when Boyle was collecting literary aphorisms. The significance of the heading 'L. D.' has not been determined, but the same initials also appear in Workdiary 1, in the aphorism 'Certinly my L. D. is so Judicious in her Choices, that the same (good) Qualitys that have given you her Frendship will acquire you /make you deserve/ that of any Person you shall desire.' (1: 61). Thus we are tempted to place this workdiary closer to Workdiaries 1 and 2 at c. 1647.
