Sydney Coelho received a BA in English from Virginia Commonwealth University. Her research at CELL was on the importance of ambassadorial relations during the English Civil War, with the central focus of her thesis being on Walter Strickland's dispatches from The Hague, 1644-1646. She currently works for the Department of Defense in the United States as a publications/editorial assistant for the Defense Acquisition Research Journal (ARJ) near Washington, D.C. She is hoping to continue her studies within the next year or two.
In her spare time, Sydney is refining her language skills in French and Latin, writing fiction, and continuing her research. At present, she is producing a collation of the “Lybell agaynst Bashe” and writing an article on the early Stuart libel the “Five Senses”. In summer 2009 her short story “The Hunter of Urbania” was published in 69 Flavors of Paranoia. Her other short story, “Night's Lullaby”, is due to appear in the April 2011 issue of Dark Gothic Resurrected Magazine.
