Ophelia Field

Ophelia Field is the author of two acclaimed biographies handling subjects from the early eighteenth century: The Favourite: Sarah, Duchess of Marlborough (2002) and The Kit-Cat Club: Friends Who Imagined a Nation (2008). In parallel to researching and writing these histories, she has pursued a career as a researcher and analyst in the refugee/human rights field, where similar issues concerning verification of information and assessing subjective eye-witness testimonies often arise. She also reviews for a number of publications, including The Sunday Telegraph and Literary Review.
