Nicholas Popper is an assistant professor in the department of history at the College of William and Mary. He received his PhD from Princeton University in 2007. He specializes in early modern British history with a particular focus on intersections between intellectual and political culture and on scholarly interactions between Britain and continental Europe. His research interests also include early modern history of science, history of the book, and travel and geographical knowledge. He is currently completing a book based on his dissertation, entitled “Walter Ralegh’s History of the World and the Historical Culture of the Late Renaissance.”
