Lewis took his undergraduate degree at the University of Oxford, before coming to Queen Mary to do the MA in Renaissance and Early Modern Studies. Over the course of his Masters year his research interests veered sharply away from Elizabethan verse and he is staying at CELL to write an AHRC-funded doctoral thesis about the architectural maps and plans produced during the reign of Henry VIII.
