CELL is about to embark on Volume I of the Oxford University Press edition of the complete letters of Elizabeth of Bohemia (1596-1662).
The project provides an opportunity for a recent graduate in English or History to join us. We need someone with a Masters degree and experience of manuscript work in the early modern period, including palaeography. A knowledge of French would be desirable.
The person concerned would assist in transcribing Elizabeth's letters under the direction of Dr Nadine Akkerman and Dr Robyn Adams. This work would ideally be integrated with a PhD on a topic in seventeenth century Anglo-Dutch history or literature. We already have excellent experience of such an arrangement in connection with the so-called Hooke Folio. We would anticipate that transcription work would be completed within the first year of the PhD.
Further details may be obtained on request by emailing Robyn Adams.
