Judging from the enthusiastic comments we have received, the seventh HarperCollins History lecture, delivered by Dr Amanda Vickery on Wednesday 12 November 2008, at RIBA in central London, was an even greater success than its predecessors. All of us at CELL believe that this was largely due to Dr Vickery's outstanding lecture — beautifully delivered and fabulously illustrated — plus her commitment to the excellence of every detail of the occasion over the months before the lecture.
