[In margin]25 Apr. 23 There was made an Exp

the open
end with a flaxid Bladder to see what it would produce, and it was found after a little while that
theBladder
was swelled. It was ordered that it should be put as it was into the trunk of the Society, and to be left then lockd
vp, till the next meeting, to see whether the
se exhalations would proue permanant air. M

that he had frequently made such kind of Exp

was somewhat inflated with air produced by Aq: fortis & powderd oyster shells & now much more swelled
then at that time. It was suggested that it should be tryed whether this air thus produced will serue for Bur
ning. that is whether a candle may be kept Burning in it as in C
omon air. and if soe whether as long as
or a longer or shorter time. and that for this purpo
se this very air should be conveyed into another ve

to burne bodys in it -- It was al
so ordered that this exp
t. should be tryed with a mixture of other bodys
to see whether air would be produced fit for Respiration. - It was suggested that it might
be considered whether the Aq: fort: be considerably wa
sted, or what quantity of it is Rai

for which end it would be nece
ssary to weigh it exactly before it be put in as al
so the oyster shells.-
The curator sayd it would be worth trying what effect precipitation would haue vpon air by powring
certain liquors vpon Solutions to make precipitations. -- M

formerly produced in a bladder by the operati

yet soe that some of the common air remained in it, the said wax candle burnt in it only 45 such vi
brations. The Exp
t being not accurate enough, The Curator was desired to make another apparatus for a
better tryall. It was moued againe that some Experiments might be made to produce air fit for Respi
ration, when m
r Boyle suggested to make that tryall with corall & vineger.
