mr. Hooke produced a Pacquet of bookes wch. were sent him Direct

There was some Discourse also concerning waters whether those
that were impregnated wth. alcalizate salts would draw tincture
more plentifully than fresh water Dr. Grew was of opini
on they would, But mr. Hooke conceiued that fresh water
would draw a much stronger tincture from a plant before
It was impregnated wth salt then after. for which he alled
ged many Reasons, and Instanced particularly in the way of Drawing
. . . tinctures from senna, the one wth fair water, the other wth water impregnated
wth. salt of tarter, the first of wch. would be the strongest though the other appeard Deeper
mr. Hooke Introduced D Sleyer to shew the society the Expt.
of animalls in semine animalium. He brought wth him
the liquor which he had lately expressed out of the testicule
of a stone horse which had been newly ghelt. this Liquor
he took vp in small canes & viewd them wth. a single mi
croscope whereby they were made visible, but mr Hooke put
ting some of the same liquor vpon the plate of his double
-microscope Infinites of those small wrigling creatures might
very plainly be Distinguished and were very plainl Disco-
vered & obserued by most of the society which were present.
