Dr. Plot vpon a Discourse of Barley made mention of a
certaine sort of Barly calld Patney Barly from a place
of that name in Wiltshire. this Barly he conceiued would
be of great vse in cold countreys by reason that it will
be thorough ripe in 9 or 10 weeks from the time of
its sowing, and consequently Come wthin the Limits of
the shortest summer. Of this he hath giuen an account
in his Description of Oxfordshire. by others calld rare
ripe barly.
mr. Hooke Gaue an account of the experiment that had
been shewn the Last Day and of the Designe of them
and of the time & manner requisite for the com=
pleating such experiments, & Desired that there might
be a comtee. appointed for the making such tryalls as
could not be done wthin the time of a session of -
the society, for that many experiments could not be
made wthin soe short a time as they ought to be.

Dr. Plot Left wth the society a printed sheet of his -
Inquirys in ord made in order to the writing of the natu
rall History of all parts of England, this he Did wth
a Desire that the same might be pervsed by them
and such alterations made therein as they should see rea
sonable -
mr. Hooke shewed an experiment wth. Gunpowder in
order to examine - whether the Burning thereof
Did consume or produce more air. And vpon
