The minutes of March the sixth being read Gaue oc=

& Gunpowder
Aurum Fulminans and Puluis Fulminans. And it was
coniectured that Charcole in Gunpowder was significant
[In margin]RL. cheifly vpon the account of its conteining a good quan
tity of Alcalizate salt and not soe much vpon the ac=
count of its being apt to take fire. for that It was ob=
serued that Puluis fulminans which was
obserued /fownd/ to
be very much stronger, would be kindled with out any
mixture of charcole or any other vegetable body.
The like also was conceiud to be the cause of the Fulmi
nation of Aurum Fulminans. much also was discoursd
about the exi
stence of Alcalizate salt in salt Peter.
But there being noe certain experiment alledged that
Did cleer that que
stion it was referred to another occa=
sion.
