middle of the glasse Burned nor shined not, nor did at
all seem to consume till /by/ taking off the clay that stopped
the mouth & blowing In fresh air wth. the Bellows into
the body of the glasse, the shining burning and Dissolution
of the cole plainely Appeard. And that ^ /cole/ which before in
a much greater heat had Remained black as if cold now
in a much Lesse heat Grows Grew all ouer red lighted & pre
sently after the white ashes couered its superfici^/es/all which
was Iudged an Euident signe that the Heat of a fire though
exceeding hott was not able to burne abo a combustible body wthout
Air, and that the air was the body that wrought that effect vpon
the combustible Body./
