The President wth Sr. I Louther. Mr. Creed. Mr. Thin ^ /mr. Henshaw mr./ & seuerall
others went vp into Mr. Hookes Turret to see the further progress
that had been made in the Clock contriued by mr Hooke
for keeping an account of the seuerall variations of
the weather. the wch. was well approued by them

The President tooke the chair -

The minutes of the Last meeting vizt of Ian: 2d were read
wherevpon mention was made of by the President of conti
nuing and promoting correspondence wth. forrein parts, and
It was desired that the proposall made by mr. Hooke shoul[d]
be further considerd of by the councell in order to the
promoting that Designe -

vpon the mention of gold powder &c. mr Henshaw furth[er]
obserued that all Gold that was not found in Riuers was
found imbodyed in very Hard Stones and soe seemed to be
generated in them. He also tooke notice that such as wa[s]
found in Riuers was for the most part found in such pa
parts of them where they made any considerable ben[d]
or turning or eddy

The Question concerning the figure of Dust or sand Gold
was farther Debated, and it remaining yet a Doubt wh[e]
ther It were found soe figured as had been supposed of
regular figures. It was further Desired that mr. Hooke
should Indeauour to get a sight of some Dust Gold and
examine the same wth. care to see and Describe the most
vsuall figures thereof.

vpon a discourse about the minerall of copper. Sr.
Iohn Louther Related that there was a sort of mineral[l]
found in Cumberland which seemd to be a very rich Co[p]
-per ore, but that hauing sent the same to be tryd here at
