His Grace the Duke of norfolk being present at this meeting
renewed the Declaration of his Guift formerly made to this Society
of the Arundelian Library and also Gaue his consent and Direction for
the remouall thereof into the po
sse
ssion of the Society
at Gresham-Colledge , And that the said Society should haue liberty to exchange
such bookes thereof as were duplicates or they should think not soe
proper for their v
se, for others of AEquall value which they
should judge more pertinent to their De
signe Declaring al
so
that the Bookes formerly Reserued by his Grace concerning He
rauldry
and noe others were the only bookes he still excepted out
of the said Donation, hauing made a promi
se of them to the
Colledge of Heraulds. His Grace was al
so plea
sed to adde further

m. Dugdale had presented his Grace w
th. a Catalogue
of such Bookes as he in the name of the Heraulds had de
sired
for that Purpo
se, But vpon peru
sall of the same finding
many of them to be such and did not soe properly belong
to the Busne
sse of Herauldry, his grace was De
sirous that

sider what bookes therein
mentiond were such as concerned Herauldry and mo
st proper
for their v
se, and what might be more proper for the v

of this society and to moderate and adjudge the matter between
the two Societys. But it was /his/ Graces further pleasure and De

hope they neuer would be, that in such ca
se they might Reuert to his Heirs.
The Society then hereupon did ^ /by the mouth of the President/ returne his Grace their mo

and Hearty thanks for this his soe truly noble a present.

mination of this matter might be made w
th. all conuenient
speed, And ^ /that/ the bookes should be there vpon forth with Remoud
to Gresham Colledg
in Bps street m
r. Henshaw mentiond that there might be a fair catalogue made
to Be deliuerd to his Grace
in to remaine in his Graces Cu
stody -
