fol.223r
Sir, none living saw the Scedule or inclosed paper but my self, nor none was ever acquainted with the argument of it, It being instantlie upon the readinge committed to the fyer. But your suspition of his cominge to yow is just for he hath had a desire of that imploiment, and yet as familiar as he is with me he never would breake it immediatlie with my self. But made Lakes the Clerke of the signet breake it with me by an other 3d person I answered that I would not wronge one frende to pleasure an other, I know yf yow went it was a wronge to have anie man joyned with yow, and yf yow went not I would neither make nor medle in it. Here upon I guesse he came to sownde yow whether yow would be content to be joyned or to be excluded for my constancy if my love towardes yow did not hold [me] I will never seeke to grace anie man by that which yow have with ill satisfaccion given owt and so I rest. Your most assured frende
