Sir. Hir Majestie by hir letters in Januarie last, where- with I dowbt not but yowe weare made acquainted, ernestly recommended /to/ the States of Holland the longe suite of Collonell Sonoy, sufficientlie knowen unto yowe, which letters as he saith weare soone after presented to them, but hetherto he hath not received anie awnsweare: And for that by the same letters hir Majestie signifieth unto them that yowe showld in hir name sollicite them in the behalf of the said Monsieur Sonoy, and that she would expect to hir from them by writinge howe theie showld intend to deale with him: She hath commaunded mee to require yowe effectuallie to solicite this matter in hir name to the said States; the rather for that the said Collonell Sonoy is nowe gon over with his wief and famelie to attend the issue of this matter, which importeth him greatlie, and therefore I praie yowe to assist him thearein what yowe maie./ And so I Commend mee hartelie to you./ From the Cort this xxvth of Maye. 1591.
