I have sent your L. the inclosed by a former messenger: but because Sir John Norreis depar- teth sooner then I thought, and may come to your L. before the forsaid messenger, I have sent it copied once againe, and take there- withall my humble leave. Postscript: Sir John Norreis upon the recent of a freshe advertisment from Sir Edward his brother, that the Enemie doth beginne to make some actual attempt upon the towne of Ostend, hath in taking his farewell of the Councel, made an earnest motion unto them, for the sending thither of two companies more. But because they themselves have no suche informacion, from their officers there, they will make no other answear, then they have already written to her Majestie. They thinke it very likely, that the Enemie doth assemble some forces in those quarters, and happely fortifie in some place, to stoppe the excursions of the souldiers of the Garrison. But they can not be persuaded, that the Enemies designe doth tend any further.
