fol.95r
May it please your good L. because Master Ortel hath certified the Councel of State in her Majesties name, that her Highnes is re- solved, to send over into Flanders some fower or five thousand men, to be presently imploied, with the forces of these contreis, to the annoiance of the Enemie, it hath bin thought expedient in a publike meeting of the General states, and the Councel together, that an other letter should be addressed from the Councel of State to her Majestie to the self same purpose, as hath bin written already, about ten daies past, by the General States, wherof I have signified the effect in my former letters. Howbeit, because the winde with us hath bin contrary, I thinke this letter of the Councel, will arrive assoone as that other of the states: whiche was also directed, as this, to be delivered to her Majestie by their Agent Master Ortel: whiche I thought not impertinent, to be signfied to your L. and so I take my humble leave. From the Hage. September 30 1590. Your L. most humbly bounden Tho. Bodley
