The fitte opportunitie of a messenger being offered, but geving me no leasure, to write at any length, I send your L. herewith Count Maurice owne letter to the Councel of state, declaring the surrendrie of the towne of steen- berghen: which gives a great contentment to the people of this contrey. For the passage by water between Holland and Zeland, will nowe in a maner be cleane out of danger: and the contrey eased of a great expense, in maintening shippes of warre, for the only securitie of those that passed that way. And thus I take my humble leave. From the Hage. October 8. 1590. Your L. most humbly bounden Tho.Bodley
