It may please your L. to be advertised, that by Letters whiche I have right nowe receaved from Embden, and out of Friseland, it is signi- fied unto me, that the towne of Groeninghen hath expelled their Lieutenant Governor for the king, and the rest of the Kinges Councel there. They are also entred into parle with the states of Frise, and there are hostages sent from bothe sides. Of this I thought requisit to certifie your L. with all expedition, and withall to beseeche yow, that if it stande with her Majesties pleasure, to write her letter to Groeninghen, in suche sort as in former letters, whiche I sent by an expresse messenger, was desired, they may be sent hither with all possible speed. For the having of that place is estee- med, a mater of greater importance to these Provinces, then the citie of Andwerpe; and there is no man heere that douteth, but that uppon the sight of her Majesties letter, they will presently condescend to a good composition.
