Sir I receaved your lettres wherby I perceaved your intent to go to Berghen up Zome to compound the Differences between Sir Thomas Morgan and the Captaines there. I sent the same to the Court and hope shortly to be there my self and then you shall not fayle to heare oftener from me then nowe you do by reason of mine ab- ence. The Commissioners are come and this day [have] audience I hope by the[.] men their message is gratefull, but yet Sir John Conway complayneth that the wants at Ostend are such as I think her Majestie shalbe forced to abandon yt.

Here was this day with me your wife to take her Leave being nowe going over to you, I wrote to my L. Admirall to give order for a ship to waft her over. And so I commend you to god: From my howse at Barnelms this xxiijth of May 1589 Your assured loving frend Francis Walsyngham
